Student Spotlight: Angelina
by: Ardelle
Recently, I interviewed a 6th grade girl named Angelina. She is in the MAC team and she has been in it for two years now. Angelina said that her favorite special was Music and she likes how we do the ukuleles. She said we actually learn something while we are in that class. Angelina has been involved in chorus and she has done it since 5th grade. Since we are not like any other class, we have a total of three teachers. Angelina's favorite subject to do is math because she doesn't prefer to read as much as she likes to do math.

The Jeffrey L. Fox Memorial Track Meet
by: Avery and Abbie
With the Jeffrey Fox Memorial Track Meet coming up fast, Mr. Leese, North Hills gym teacher, and Mrs. Thorius, North Hills health teacher, have a lot of things to get done. The Jeffrey Fox Memorial Track Meet has gone way back since 1996. Jeffrey Fox was North Hills Principal since 1985. He created the Track Meet in 1992 with Mr. Wisler. Sadly, he died from cancer in February of 1996. After that, the Track Meet was renamed after him in memory. Our track meet was supposed to be on May 10th, but it was rescheduled to May 17th due to the weather. The track meet prepares the students for middle school sports, opening trials for them. The track meet also helps the students exercise and go along with Mr. Leese's standards. The track meet is both an athletic and social time, allowing students to have fun. Mr. Leese and Mrs. Thorius have assigned each student at North Hills an event based on our previous trials. There are 7 track events and 7 field events. For each event, there's a group for each grade and each team. The same goes with Sinking Springs, although their gym teacher assigns them. Family and friends can also come and watch.
